Carol L. Berry, M.D. is a spirit-filled prayer warrior and a determined woman of God. God placed his hand on Carol from birth, carrying her through multiple childhood illnesses and surgeries. These challenges only served to deepen her love for God, and at the age of 14 she committed her life to Christ, was baptized and filled with the Holy Spirit. With a heart to serve she gained valuable experience working with the prison ministry, nursing home ministry and music ministry of her childhood home church.

Dr. Berry shares Overseer Berry’s passion for education. She graduated from Lindbloom High School at the early age of 16 and attained both her B.S. in Biology and M.S. in Biomedical Science from Chicago State University. After employment as a math and science teacher she worked in medical research and became a published author in the field of pulmonary medicine. She was blessed to attend and graduate from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Urbana, fully funded by the Illinois Department of Public Health Scholarship. She received her M.D. in 1991.

In May 2000, Dr. Berry formally accepted God’s call to the preaching ministry. She has been blessed to share God’s word and her testimony of His healing and deliverance in many venues. As First Lady of CMI she is convinced that “we love God by loving His people” and accordingly, joyfully serves in several leadership capacities including Minister of Music. Dr. Berry is the Founder and Director of the Next Step Gifted Center, a ministry of Compassion that promotes the physical, spiritual and emotional development of girls and young women.

Dr. Berry sees to the needs of her family first. She has been a loving and supportive wife to Overseer Berry for over 29 years, and a remarkable mother to their two Holy-Spirit filled daughters, Aryelle and Ashley Berry who also faithfully serve with CMI.
